The snow started on the Thursday afternoon of the 30th with towards four inches falling by the end of the evening. Cambridge became gridlocked with traffic and people were forced to sleep in their cars over night - even on the M11 and our own A603. The Wheatsheaf stayed open all night, to enable those stranded to have some comfort. It was taking 5 hours to get home from places such as the Cambridge Science Park and even High Cross on Madingley Road!
